Los Alamos Young Life is looking to hire a staff associate to work alongside the area director in hopes of sustaining and growing the current ministry that was launched more than 30 years ago. Los Alamos is a small town remotely located in the beautiful mountains of northern New Mexico where rock climbing, fishing, skiing and boarding, hiking and other activities are right in our own backyard. This position will focus on ministry at our one high school, with the possibility of working in the WyldLife club as well. This newly hired staff person will focus his or her gifts on direct kid ministry, leading club, doing great contact work, camp recruiting, building Campaigners groups, and recruiting, training, and encouraging leaders! We are looking for a self-starter, someone who can take initiative and is not easily discouraged. As another plus, we are financially solid and have raised part of the money needed for a staff associate. Are you up for the adventure?

Work closely with the area director, committee and volunteers.
Work to maintain/grow Jesus, loving volunteer leader teams that: organize club, do contact work at the local schools, invite teens to camp, and disciple teens well.
Provide spiritual leadership and encouragement to the volunteers and teens.
Help to recruit, train and sustain leaders.
Build community and parent support by demonstrating excellent relational work with teens, parents and community.
Attend Young Life training courses (New Staff, Leadership I and II, Winter Training and Apologetics) and meet for regional staff associates training once a month.
Participating in committee meetings and fund-raising events.

Young Life volunteer or part-time staff experience is required.
Authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Strong leadership skills and experience in developing people.
Confident and willing to take initiative.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Willingness to raise personal and ministry financial support and learn more about the inner workings of a non-profit.
Ability to create community among peer group.
Willing to make a two-year minimum commitment with the possibility of a third year.
A teachable spirit.

Full-time salary: Based on experience and responsibility.
Benefits: Full health coverage (including dental, vision and life insurance).
Training and career development is built into the job.

Do you love the idea of doing small town ministry, where you walk into a coffee shop and immediately know three to five people, where you drive down the road and wave because you recognize the cars of teens and adults, and where the grocery store is a place of contact work? Do you not only want to make an impact in the lives of teens but in the community through the way you love Jesus? If so, Los Alamos may be a fit for you.
